Dr. Pritha Chakrabarti is an Assistant Professor in the department of media and communication, MIT-WPU. Prior to this she was a full-time faculty at the Centre for Writing and Pedagogy, KREA University and Symbiosis Centre for Media and Communication, Symbiosis International (deemed university). She has conducted several workshops and FDPs on academic writing for research scholars, students and teachers at University of Hyderabad, Ambedkar University, Delhi, GITAM University, Hyderabad, Gargaon College, Assam, Sanskrit College and University, Kolkata, Hansraj College, Delhi, and Ashoka University, Sonipat, among others. Dr. Chakrabarti has also worked in the media industry for over a decade as a journalist, editor, advertising copywriter, digital marketer and brand manager. Currently, she is a resource person for Oxford University Press to conduct webinars and develop content on “Creative Pedagogy” for school teachers in line with the NEP 2020. She has a PhD in Cultural Studies from the English and Foreign Languages University, Hyderabad, and has been researching the intersection of caste, class, labor, gender and nationalism with Indian cinema and performing arts. She has published her film studies research in multiple international Scopus-indexed journals and is currently working on queer cinema in India.
Dr. Pritha Chakrabarti
